FHS Chapter 3 - The Strongest Guy In This Town

"Hey, what's with that look! Because of you, I had to answer all sorts of questions from the police, got suspended from school, and my old man gave me a good beating! It's been a real mess, you know!"
"...so?"

Towards someone who almost lost his life, he kept on talking about such self centered things. Takeru's heart became colder and colder toward such a man.
Seeing Takeru like this, Araki felt a sense of discomfort and widened his eyes.

"Hey you, do you think you can get all cocky like this? Do you even realize that I have seniors behind me? Those seniors are seriously powerful... With their influence, they could make your death disappear if they wanted to. You understand that right?"
"And so?"
"——!"

With the words spoken and the issue with the messages, Takel had already understood, but he reaffirmed that this man was indeed the mastermind behind it all.
It's also because of those seniors that the police didn't take any action...

——It’s disgusting.

Although he once saved the world as a savior, in the end, all humans around the world wished him death.
For him, this kind of "unreasonableness" reminded him of his past and made him feel disgusted.

"What are you staring at..."

Araki approached with an expression of anger.
Compared to Takeru, who had the average stature of a high school student, Araki had a much larger build.
Confronting him head-on meant looking up at him, but Takeru didn't find it particularly intimidating.

After all, the "Takeru Yamato", who was a savior, once fight head-on with a dragon as big as a castle.

"You've doing whatever you want since a while ago....what are you getting carried away for?! Hey Kusanagi, heey!?"
"It's annoying. Don't let your dirty spit fly at me."

The moment Takeru said that, Araki's eyes clearly turned violent.

"Coward who ran away and tried to commit suicide, I'll beat you until you want to die this time!"

Then Araki's punch comes quickly. He has learned boxing, and is probably capable of knocking out an average delinquent.
At least, it's a much sharper punch than the delinquents who bullied Takeru.

But...

"Too slow"
"Ha?"

Araki looked at me in shock, as if he didn't expect to be dodged.
His face immediately turned red, showing his anger.

"Th, this bastaaaaard!! Yo, yo, yooouuuuuu!!!"

A rapid succession of punches so fast they seemed to cut through the air.
At first, he had tried to rely on brute strength, but it seemed he grew frustrated when he couldn't land any hits.
He switched to a more real boxing style, incorporating jabs and occasional feints, all aimed at landing precise blows.

Even so, the attack never hit Takeru.

"W-why can’t I hit you?! You’re Kusanagi, you’re a slug!"

As a premise, Takeru's body is not a blessed one.
Furthermore, as he slept in hospital room, his strength is still low even though his injuries have healed.
Even so, the fact that he could dodge Araki's attacks like this was because of the "experience" he had gained from all the battles he had fought up until now.

Even if he couldn't win through sheer physical strength——

"If you could only rely on brute force like that, you would leave yourself wide open."
"Gah————!?"

His fist shot out in sync with Araki's punch and accurately targeted his jaw.
The blow, utilizing not just Takeru's strength but also Araki's, managed to inflict damage despite the difference in their physical builds.

Against Araki, whose eyes had rolled back, he continued to strike, hitting him along the center line, targeting the nose, throat, and solar plexus.
The combination attack he had once witnessed from a martial artist in another world, even though he held back, was still something an ordinary high school student couldn't endure—.

"Ugeee!?"

He crouched down right there, his body trembling.
It's a pathetic sight for a man who was blessed with a good physique and had probably done whatever he wanted until now.
But looking down on him, Takeru didn't feel much of a sense of satisfaction, just emptiness.

"Don't get involved with me anymore."
"Ga, gu.....a, bas, tard"

As he was walking past Araki, he felt a murderous intent behind him and turned around.
At the same time, a fireball flies in front of him.

Compared to what he had seen before, it was quite sloppy, but even so, if it connected, it would result in a serious injury.

"Chi..."

When he dodged it and glared at the source of the fireball, he saw Araki glaring at him with bloodshot eyes.
In the palm of his hand was another twisted fireball.

"I'll kill you! I'll definitely kill you!"
"...When did high school students become so noisy?"
"Uoooraaaaahhh!!! Fire Baaaaaall!!"

Just like a baseball pitcher's windup, he set himself and then hurled the fireball.
It wasn't particularly fast, so he managed to dodge it, but the fireball struck a tree behind him and set it ablaze.

"Chi"

The people around are also in a commotion.
Seeing that, he couldn't help but feel relieved that this wasn't the "everyday life of this era," but at the same time, he knew that he couldn't just leave it like this forever.

"....."
"I'll hit you next time and turn you into a human torch!"
"Don't think there will be a next time."

――Physical Boost

The moment Takeru placed his hand on his heart and muttered a little, his heart skipped a beat.
In another world, this magic, which is the first basic of the basics that knights learn, must be mastered.

"Even though you're just Kusanagi, you dare to use magic! But you know, Physical Boost is something even an elementary school student can use... gaha!?"

Araki couldn't finish saying those words.
This is because Takeru, who had crushed the asphalt, suddenly jumped out and slammed Araki's body into the ground at a speed that no one could notice.

"A.....ah....."

Seeing Araki lose consciousness from a blow strong enough to plant him in the ground, Takeru was certain that there wouldn't be any more issues.
At the same time, he could tell from the man's current demeanor that he would absolutely not reflect on his actions.

"What should I do..."

If you were to ask whether he held a grudge against this man, from the perspective of the body's owner, of course he did.
However, he, as himself, couldn't help but wonder whether he should deliver more blows to this man.

"Hm?"

As he pondered this, a sudden ripple in the pale blue space appeared just like when he had seen it in the car the other day.
During the week since he had awakened in this era, he had used his smartphone to investigate it thoroughly――――

"Gate break huh?"

Forty years ago, after Takeru was summoned to another world, the world suddenly changed.
The gate connected the other world to Earth, and monsters began to overflow.

The monsters began attacking humans, and the people were frightened by the unknown creatures that heavy weapons were unable to hurt them.

However, almost immediately, magicians appeared from nowhere and began to battle the monsters.
And the magicians proclaimed that magic was a field of study, something anyone could learn.

As a result, magic became an essential knowledge for humans, and the number of people who defeated monsters gradually began to increase.
Those who research magic are called magus, and those who defeat monsters are called hunters, and even if monsters come through the gate, they will not cause any damage.

Those who studied magic were called "Magus," and those who defeated monsters were known as "Hunters." Thus, even when monsters came through the gates, the damage was gone.
Almost gone.

Only when hunters are nearby.

"Well then..."

What jumped out from the gate was similar to the ogre from last time, but it was one size larger than that ogre.
Cloaked in a black aura, the pressure it exerts on those around it is incomparable to that of an ogre.
According to Takeru's knowledge, it was called a Bloody Ogre, and even in another world, it was a dangerous monster that could wipe out a medium-sized knight group.

Even if 1,000 people like Araki gathered together, they would not be able to defeat them, and if they left things as they were, they would likely cause great damage.

"Why does it always appear where ever I am."

Gatebreaks don't normally occur like that.
However, the fact that it happened right in front of my eyes in such a short period of time makes me wonder if God hates me.

――Despite saying I didn't want to stand out.

He look around.
Because of Araki's rampage, there were no people around and no one saw him.
After confirming this, Takeru slowly approached the Bloody Ogre.

"It was a stroke of luck that it came out at this moment when no one was looking."
"Guooooo――"

I parried the Bloody Ogre's fist as it swung down with all its might.

"Die"

He thrust out his fist.
At that moment, the abdomen of the giant body blows up, leaving a round hole.

"....Guo?"

Bloody Ogre fell to the ground without even realizing that it was dead, and a large amount of blood leaked from its abdomen, flowing towards Araki, who had fallen nearby.

"Ah..."

And so Araki sinks into a sea of blood.
He has few injuries, so he'll be fine, but it's a quite a horror scene.

"Well, it's fine."

The sound of sirens can be heard from a distance.
It was probably called when Araki became violent.
Even if not, other hunters would be approaching to deal with the gate break as soon as it occurs.

Wanting to be as inconspicuous as possible, Takeru casted his magic on the gate that was swaying in front of him, causing it to disperse, and then quietly left the area.

"This is――"

After Takeru left, a blonde girl appears as the police surround Bloody Ogre.

A gatebreak with such a dangerous concentration of magical power that even A-class hunters were said to require multiple people to deal with it.
When the Hunter Association dispatched the hunters to deal with it, they found that the gate had already been closed and the monster was dead.

"I can't believe it. Who could have defeated such a powerful monster?"

The teenager being questioned by the police was explaining loudly, as if boasting about his own achievement.
At first she thought he had defeated it, but the magical power she felt was extremely small.
He might be able to become a hunter, but he could not defeat a monster of that level.

In the first place, there are probably few hunters in this city who can defeat a monster of that level.
She's confident that she can win, but no matter how you look at it, it was defeated in one blow.

“By any chance, is there a hunter stronger than me in this town?”

She suddenly thought about the boy of the same age who seemed to have defeated an ogre the other day.
But she quickly shook her head.
She decided that it was her misundertanding.

"Hey, look at that! It's Takamine Hunter!"
"Huh? That person who became an S-rank at the youngest age in history!?"
"Small face! So cute! Huh? Is that really a hunter? She's not an actress or an idol!?"
"……It is inevitable"

People around her noticed her presence and started making noise.

There's nothing more to be gained by staying here, and she could ask the police about the situation later.
Having made this decision, the "S-class hunter" Takamine Sakura left the area.
